The second-stage adjustment is technically a micro-adjustment, designed to help the wearer achieve a more comfortable tension. For example, if you wanted to walk while wearing a coat on a cold day you could simply release the small Nexus buckle and let the two front straps open just a little to accomodate the extra padding from your coat, then, re-attach the Nexus buckle which stabilizes the front straps which are super-reinforced, heavy elastic material with military-grade hook-n-loop fasteners sewn on the inside which attach to the vest for up to 1200 lbs. of shear holding power!
This combination gives the weight vest wearer unparalleled freedom of fit, function and security.
